As a student in high school, the first album I ever bought was
"Secret Agent" by Chick Corea and I immediately fell in love with 
his percussive style of piano playing.  During that same time, I was the principal keyboard player for a Jazz ensemble called "Jazz Impact" and we had the privilege of playing with  Al Vazutti (who played with Chick on "Fickle Funk" from the album, "Secret Agent").

In honor of Chick Corea specifically, 
what began as a 7/8 intro to 
the driving Bass~ostinato funk tune
evolved into a 3 tiered piece that repeated
in form around the 7/8 stop-time lick.
It's really fun to play and I love the trickiness of that 7/8 interruption!
